8 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Subchapter G, Chapter 661, Government Code, is | |
10 | 10 | amended by adding Section 661.207 to read as follows: | |
11 | 11 | Sec. 661.207. DONATION OF SICK LEAVE. (a) An employee may | |
12 | 12 | donate any amount of the employee's accrued sick leave to another | |
13 | 13 | employee who: | |
14 | 14 | (1) is employed in the same state agency as the donor | |
15 | 15 | employee; and | |
16 | 16 | (2) has exhausted the employee's sick leave, including | |
17 | 17 | any time the individual may be eligible to withdraw from a sick | |
18 | 18 | leave pool. | |
19 | 19 | (b) An employee may not provide or receive remuneration or a | |
20 | 20 | gift in exchange for a sick leave donation under this section. | |
21 | 21 | (c) In this section, "employee" and "state agency" have the | |
22 | 22 | meanings assigned by Section 661.001. | |
23 | 23 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
