                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            May 8, 2015      TO: Honorable John Zerwas, Chair, House Committee on Higher Education      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB1656 by West (Relating to the administration of the scholarship program for certain students graduating in the top 10 percent of the students' high school graduating class.), As Engrossed    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill relates to the administration of the scholarship program for certain students graduating in the top 10 percent of the students' high school graduating class. The bill would codify the Top Ten Percent Scholarship that has been established in rules by the Higher Education Coordinating Board. This analysis assumes that any costs for the Higher Education Coordinating Board, the Texas Education Agency and institutions of higher education could be absorbed within current resources. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
