| 8 | 8 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 9 | 9 | | SECTION 1. Section 545.157(a), Transportation Code, is |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | amended to read as follows: |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | (a) This section applies only to the following vehicles: |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | (1) a stationary authorized emergency vehicle using |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | visual signals that meet the requirements of Sections 547.305 and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | 547.702; |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | (2) a stationary tow truck using equipment authorized |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | by Section 547.305(d); [and] |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | (3) a vehicle operated by or for the Texas Department |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | of Transportation, a county, a municipality, or a toll project |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | entity, as defined by Section 372.001, [vehicle] not separated from |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | the roadway by a traffic control channelizing device and using |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | visual signals that comply with the standards and specifications |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | adopted under Section 547.105; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | (4) a stationary vehicle operated by or for the Texas |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Department of Transportation, a county, a municipality, or a toll |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | project entity, as defined by Section 372.001, assisting a stranded |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | driver or a disabled vehicle and using visual signals that comply |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | with the standards and specifications adopted under Section |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | 547.105. |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
