| 8 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Subchapter G, Chapter 504, Transportation Code, | |
| 10 | 10 | is amended by adding Section 504.665 to read as follows: | |
| 11 | 11 | Sec. 504.665. THE ALAMO LICENSE PLATES. (a) The department | |
| 12 | 12 | shall issue specialty license plates that include the image of the | |
| 13 | 13 | Alamo and the word "Remember" at the bottom of each plate. The | |
| 14 | 14 | department shall design the license plates in consultation with the | |
| 15 | 15 | Alamo Mission Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas. | |
| 16 | 16 | (b) After deduction of the department's administrative | |
| 17 | 17 | costs, the remainder of the fee for issuance of the license plates | |
| 18 | 18 | shall be deposited to the credit of an account created by the | |
| 19 | 19 | comptroller in the manner provided by Section 504.6012(b). Money | |
| 20 | 20 | deposited to that account may be used only by the Texas Historical | |
| 21 | 21 | Commission to provide grants to benefit the Alamo Mission Chapter | |
| 22 | 22 | of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas to fund Texas history | |
| 23 | 23 | education programs. | |
| 24 | 24 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
