| 9 | 7 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 8 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter E, Chapter 1054, Special District |
|---|
| 11 | 9 | | Local Laws Code, is amended by adding Section 1054.2025 to read as |
|---|
| 12 | 10 | | follows: |
|---|
| 13 | 11 | | Sec. 1054.2025. GENERAL OBLIGATION BOND ELECTION. (a) The |
|---|
| 14 | 12 | | district may issue general obligation bonds only if the bonds are |
|---|
| 15 | 13 | | authorized by a majority of the district voters voting at an |
|---|
| 16 | 14 | | election held for that purpose. |
|---|
| 17 | 15 | | (b) The order calling the election shall provide for clerks |
|---|
| 18 | 16 | | as in county elections and must specify: |
|---|
| 19 | 17 | | (1) the date of the election; |
|---|
| 20 | 18 | | (2) the location of the polling places; |
|---|
| 21 | 19 | | (3) the presiding and alternate election judges for |
|---|
| 22 | 20 | | each polling place; |
|---|
| 23 | 21 | | (4) the amount of the bonds to be authorized; |
|---|
| 24 | 22 | | (5) the maximum interest rate of the bonds; and |
|---|
| 25 | 23 | | (6) the maximum maturity of the bonds. |
|---|
| 26 | 24 | | (c) Notice of a bond election shall be given as provided by |
|---|
| 27 | 25 | | Section 1251.003, Government Code. |
|---|
| 28 | 26 | | SECTION 2. Section 1054.2025, Special District Local Laws |
|---|
| 29 | 27 | | Code, as added by this Act, applies only to general obligation bonds |
|---|
| 30 | 28 | | issued by the Lynn County Hospital District on or after the |
|---|
| 31 | 29 | | effective date of this Act. |
|---|
| 32 | 30 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 33 | 31 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 34 | 32 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 35 | 33 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 36 | 34 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
