LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION May 28, 2015 TO: Honorable Dan Patrick, Lieutenant Governor, Senate FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE:SB1913 by Perry (Relating to a court administrator in certain counties.), As Passed 2nd House No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would amend the Government Code to permit certain counties to establish and maintain a court administrator system upon approval of the commissioners court. Under the provisions of the bill, judges of the district courts or the statutory county courts may designate local court divisions and the duties of the court administrator for each division. The bill specifies the court administrator is entitled to reasonable compensation, within the salary ranges set by the commissioners court for the position. Upon approval of the commissioners court, the judges would be required to appoint appropriate staff and support personnel to each jurisdiction. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
