| 9 | 7 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 8 | | SECTION 1. Section 1A(b), Chapter 498, Acts of the 54th |
|---|
| 11 | 9 | | Legislature, Regular Session, 1955, is amended to read as follows: |
|---|
| 12 | 10 | | (b) A Directors' election shall be held on a [the] uniform |
|---|
| 13 | 11 | | election date [in May] in each even-numbered year to elect the |
|---|
| 14 | 12 | | appropriate number of Directors. |
|---|
| 15 | 13 | | SECTION 2. If the board of directors of the North Plains |
|---|
| 16 | 14 | | Groundwater Conservation District changes the election date for the |
|---|
| 17 | 15 | | district as provided by Section 1A(b), Chapter 498, Acts of the 54th |
|---|
| 18 | 16 | | Legislature, Regular Session, 1955, as amended by this Act, the |
|---|
| 19 | 17 | | board shall adjust the terms of office to conform to the new |
|---|
| 20 | 18 | | election date and the requirements of Section 30(c), Article XVI, |
|---|
| 21 | 19 | | Texas Constitution. |
|---|
| 22 | 20 | | SECTION 3. (a) The legal notice of the intention to |
|---|
| 23 | 21 | | introduce this Act, setting forth the general substance of this |
|---|
| 24 | 22 | | Act, has been published as provided by law, and the notice and a |
|---|
| 25 | 23 | | copy of this Act have been furnished to all persons, agencies, |
|---|
| 26 | 24 | | officials, or entities to which they are required to be furnished |
|---|
| 27 | 25 | | under Section 59, Article XVI, Texas Constitution, and Chapter 313, |
|---|
| 28 | 26 | | Government Code. |
|---|
| 29 | 27 | | (b) The governor, one of the required recipients, has |
|---|
| 30 | 28 | | submitted the notice and Act to the Texas Commission on |
|---|
| 31 | 29 | | Environmental Quality. |
|---|
| 32 | 30 | | (c) The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has filed |
|---|
| 33 | 31 | | its recommendations relating to this Act with the governor, the |
|---|
| 34 | 32 | | lieutenant governor, and the speaker of the house of |
|---|
| 35 | 33 | | representatives within the required time. |
|---|
| 36 | 34 | | (d) All requirements of the constitution and laws of this |
|---|
| 37 | 35 | | state and the rules and procedures of the legislature with respect |
|---|
| 38 | 36 | | to the notice, introduction, and passage of this Act are fulfilled |
|---|
| 39 | 37 | | and accomplished. |
|---|
| 40 | 38 | | SECTION 4. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
