10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Section 254.036, Election Code, is amended by | |
12 | 12 | adding Subsection (a-1) to read as follows: | |
13 | 13 | (a-1) A report filed under this chapter may satisfy the | |
14 | 14 | requirements of Sections 254.031(a)(11), (12), and (13) by | |
15 | 15 | including a brokerage statement with the filed report that contains | |
16 | 16 | all of the information required under those sections. The | |
17 | 17 | brokerage statement, if filed by computer diskette, modem, or other | |
18 | 18 | means of electronic transfer, may be submitted in PDF format. | |
19 | 19 | SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only | |
20 | 20 | to a report filed under Chapter 254, Election Code, that is due on | |
21 | 21 | or after the effective date of this Act. A report filed under that | |
22 | 22 | chapter that is due before the effective date of this Act is | |
23 | 23 | governed by the law in effect on the date the report is due, and the | |
24 | 24 | former law is continued in effect for that purpose. | |
25 | 25 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect January 1, 2016. |
