| 9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 228, Transportation Code, | |
| 11 | 11 | is amended by adding Section 228.0531 to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | Sec. 228.0531. TOLLS FOR CERTAIN VEHICLES ON STATE HIGHWAY | |
| 13 | 13 | 130. To encourage an operator of a vehicle or combination of | |
| 14 | 14 | vehicles with three or more axles to use State Highway 130, the | |
| 15 | 15 | commission and the department shall develop a program to discount | |
| 16 | 16 | or adjust toll rates for a vehicle or combination of vehicles with | |
| 17 | 17 | three or more axles traveling on Segments 1-4 of State Highway 130. | |
| 18 | 18 | SECTION 2. Not later than January 1, 2016, the Texas | |
| 19 | 19 | Transportation Commission and the Texas Department of | |
| 20 | 20 | Transportation shall develop and implement the toll rate adjustment | |
| 21 | 21 | program required by Section 228.0531, Transportation Code, as added | |
| 22 | 22 | by this Act. | |
| 23 | 23 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
