| 8 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Sections 1063.051(c) and (d), Special District | |
| 10 | 10 | Local Laws Code, are amended to read as follows: | |
| 11 | 11 | (c) An election shall be held on the uniform election date | |
| 12 | 12 | in November [May] of each even-numbered year to elect the | |
| 13 | 13 | appropriate number of directors. | |
| 14 | 14 | (d) Directors serve staggered four-year terms that expire | |
| 15 | 15 | on the last day of December [second Tuesday in June]. | |
| 16 | 16 | SECTION 2. Section 1063.112, Special District Local Laws | |
| 17 | 17 | Code, is amended to read as follows: | |
| 18 | 18 | Sec. 1063.112. CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTS. A construction | |
| 19 | 19 | contract that involves the expenditure of more than the amount | |
| 20 | 20 | provided by Section 271.024, Local Government Code, [$10,000] may | |
| 21 | 21 | be made only after advertising in the manner provided by Subchapter | |
| 22 | 22 | B, Chapter 271 [Chapter 252 and Subchapter C, Chapter 262], Local | |
| 23 | 23 | Government Code. | |
| 24 | 24 | SECTION 3. The board of directors of the Montgomery County | |
| 25 | 25 | Hospital District shall adjust the terms of office to conform to a | |
| 26 | 26 | change in the election date made by this Act. | |
| 27 | 27 | SECTION 4. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
