| 9 | 9 | | services for persons with intellectual and developmental |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | disabilities. |

| 11 | 11 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 61, Education Code, is |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | amended by adding Section 61.0663 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Sec. 61.0663. INVENTORY OF POSTSECONDARY EDUCATIONAL |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | PROGRAMS AND SERVICES FOR PERSONS WITH INTELLECTUAL AND |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES. (a) The board shall maintain an |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | inventory of all postsecondary educational programs and services |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | provided for persons with intellectual and developmental |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | disabilities by institutions of higher education. |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | (b) The board shall: |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | (1) post the inventory on the board's Internet website |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | in an easily identifiable and accessible location; |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | (2) submit the inventory to the Texas Education Agency |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | for inclusion in the transition and employment guide under Section |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | 29.0112; and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | (3) update the inventory at least once every two |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | years. |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | (c) At times prescribed by the board, each institution of |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | higher education shall report to the board all programs and |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | services described by Subsection (a) provided by that institution. |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | SECTION 2. Section 29.0112(b), Education Code, is amended |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | to read as follows: |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | (b) The transition and employment guide must contain |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | information specific to this state regarding: |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | (1) transition services; |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | (2) employment and supported employment services; |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | (3) social security programs; |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | (4) community and long-term services and support; |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | (5) postsecondary educational programs and services, |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | including the inventory maintained by the Texas Higher Education |
|---|
| 41 | 41 | | Coordinating Board under Section 61.0663; |
|---|
| 42 | 42 | | (6) information sharing with health and human services |
|---|
| 43 | 43 | | agencies and providers; |
|---|
| 44 | 44 | | (7) guardianship and alternatives to guardianship; |
|---|
| 45 | 45 | | (8) self-advocacy, person-directed planning, and |
|---|
| 46 | 46 | | self-determination; and |
|---|
| 47 | 47 | | (9) contact information for all relevant state |
|---|
| 48 | 48 | | agencies. |
|---|
| 49 | 49 | | SECTION 3. The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board |
|---|
| 50 | 50 | | shall compile the inventory required by Section 61.0663, Education |
|---|
| 51 | 51 | | Code, as added by this Act, not later than September 1, 2016. The |
|---|
| 52 | 52 | | Texas Education Agency shall comply with Section 29.0112(b)(5), |
|---|
| 53 | 53 | | Education Code, as amended by this Act, as soon as practicable after |
|---|
| 54 | 54 | | the inventory is available. |
|---|
| 55 | 55 | | SECTION 4. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 56 | 56 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 57 | 57 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 58 | 58 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 59 | 59 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
