97 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
108 SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 21, Education Code, is
119 amended by adding Section 21.0541 to read as follows:
1210 Sec. 21.0541. CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT FOR INSTRUCTION
1311 RELATED TO USE OF AUTOMATED EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATOR. The board
1412 shall adopt rules allowing an educator to receive credit towards
1513 the educator's continuing education requirements for completion of
1614 an instructional course on the use of an automated external
1715 defibrillator that meets the guidelines for automated external
1816 defibrillator training approved under Section 779.002, Health and
1917 Safety Code.
2018 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2119 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2220 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2321 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2422 Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
