64 AN ACT
75 relating to minimum scores required for public school students to
86 receive credit by an examination administered through the
97 College-Level Examination Program.
108 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
119 SECTION 1. Section 28.023(c-1), Education Code, is amended
1210 to read as follows:
1311 (c-1) A school district shall give a student in grade level
1412 six or above credit for a subject if the student scores:
1513 (1) a three or higher on an advanced placement
1614 examination approved by the board of trustees under Subsection (a)
1715 and developed by the College Board; or
1816 (2) a scaled score of 50 [60] or higher on an
1917 examination approved by the board of trustees under Subsection (a)
2018 and administered through the College-Level Examination Program.
2119 SECTION 2. This Act applies beginning with the 2015-2016
2220 school year.
2321 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2422 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2523 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2624 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2725 Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
