64 AN ACT
75 relating to the designation of a portion of U.S. Highway 87 in
86 Howard County as the William B. Crooker Memorial Highway.
97 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
108 SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 225, Transportation Code,
119 is amended by adding Section 225.102 to read as follows:
1210 Sec. 225.102. WILLIAM B. CROOKER MEMORIAL HIGHWAY.
1311 (a) Notwithstanding Section 225.001(c), the portion of U.S.
1412 Highway 87 under construction as of September 1, 2015, as a relief
1513 route around Big Spring, between Interstate Highway 20 and Ranch
1614 Road 33, in Howard County is designated as the William B. Crooker
1715 Memorial Highway. The designation is in addition to any other
1816 designation.
1917 (b) Subject to Section 225.021(c), the department shall:
2018 (1) design and construct markers indicating the
2119 designation as the William B. Crooker Memorial Highway and any
2220 other appropriate information; and
2321 (2) erect a marker at each end of the highway and at
2422 appropriate intermediate sites along the highway.
2523 SECTION 2. The Texas Department of Transportation shall
2624 comply with Section 225.102, Transportation Code, as added by this
2725 Act, after the construction of the portion of U.S. Highway 87
2826 designated as the William B. Crooker Memorial Highway by this Act is
2927 complete.
3028 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
