| 9 | 7 | | SECTION 1. Section 130.166, Education Code, is amended to |

| 11 | 9 | | Sec. 130.166. AUSTIN COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT SERVICE |

| 12 | 10 | | AREA. The service area of the Austin Community College District |

| 14 | 12 | | (1) Hays, [Gillespie,] Caldwell, and Blanco counties; |
|---|
| 15 | 13 | | (2) Travis County, except the territory within the |
|---|
| 16 | 14 | | Marble Falls Independent School District; |
|---|
| 17 | 15 | | (3) Williamson County, except the territory within the |
|---|
| 18 | 16 | | Florence, Granger, Hutto, Lexington, Taylor, and Thrall |

| 19 | 17 | | independent school districts; |

| 60 | 58 | | (1) Victoria, Lavaca, DeWitt, Gonzales, and Calhoun |
|---|
| 61 | 59 | | counties; |

| 62 | 60 | | (2) Jackson County, except the territory within the |
|---|
| 63 | 61 | | Ganado Independent School District; and |
|---|
| 64 | 62 | | (3) Refugio County, except the territory within the |
|---|
| 65 | 63 | | Woodsboro Independent School District[; and |
|---|
| 66 | 64 | | [(4) Gonzales County, except the territory within the |
|---|
| 67 | 65 | | Nixon-Smiley Consolidated Independent School District]. |

| 68 | 66 | | SECTION 4. The change in law made by this Act applies |
|---|
| 69 | 67 | | beginning with the 2015 fall semester, except that during the |
|---|
| 70 | 68 | | 2015-2016 academic year the Austin Community College District may |
|---|
| 71 | 69 | | continue to treat the areas removed by this Act from the district's |
|---|
| 72 | 70 | | service area as if the areas were still in the district's service |
|---|
| 73 | 71 | | area as necessary to avoid an unreasonable interruption of junior |
|---|
| 74 | 72 | | college services in the areas. |
|---|
| 75 | 73 | | SECTION 5. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 76 | 74 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 77 | 75 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 78 | 76 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 79 | 77 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
