66 AN ACT
77 relating to ad valorem tax liens on personal property.
88 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
99 SECTION 1. Section 32.01(b), Tax Code, is amended to read as
1010 follows:
1111 (b) A tax lien on inventory, furniture, equipment, or other
1212 personal property is a lien in solido and attaches to all inventory,
1313 furniture, equipment, and other personal property that the property
1414 owner owns on January 1 of the year the lien attaches or that the
1515 property owner subsequently acquires, irrespective of whether the
1616 personal property is located within the boundaries of the taxing
1717 unit in whose favor the lien attaches.
1818 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
1919 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2020 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2121 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2222 Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
