| 9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter I, Chapter 21, Education Code, is |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | amended by adding Section 21.4141 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Sec. 21.4141. STIPEND FOR CLASSROOM VISUAL AIDS. (a) |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Subject to Subsection (b), a school district shall provide to each |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | classroom teacher a classroom visual aid stipend in the amount of |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | $50 each semester. A teacher may use a stipend under this section |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | only to acquire visual aids for classroom instruction. |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | (b) This section applies only if a school district receives |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | additional state aid under Section 42.25131. |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | SECTION 2. Subchapter E, Chapter 42, Education Code, is |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | amended by adding Section 42.25131 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Sec. 42.25131. ADDITIONAL STATE AID FOR CLASSROOM VISUAL AID |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | STIPENDS. (a) To fund classroom visual aid stipends under Section |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | 21.4141, a school district, including a school district that is |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | otherwise ineligible for state aid under this chapter, is entitled |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | each school year to additional state aid in an amount equal to the |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | product of $100 multiplied by the number of classroom teachers |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | employed by the district that school year. |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | (b) The commissioner may adopt rules to implement this |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | section. |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
