| 9 | 7 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 8 | | SECTION 1. Sections 1.006(b) and (e), Education Code, are |

| 11 | 9 | | amended to read as follows: |

| 12 | 10 | | (b) The advisory board is considered to be [not] a |
|---|
| 13 | 11 | | governmental body for purposes of Chapters [Chapter] 551 and [or] |
|---|
| 14 | 12 | | 552, Government Code. |
|---|
| 15 | 13 | | (e) The advisory board shall meet at least quarterly. To |
|---|
| 16 | 14 | | the extent and in the manner authorized by Chapter 551, Government |
|---|
| 17 | 15 | | Code, any [Any] meeting of the advisory board may be conducted by |
|---|
| 18 | 16 | | electronic means, including a meeting by telephone conference call, |
|---|
| 19 | 17 | | by video conference call, through the Internet, or by any |
|---|
| 20 | 18 | | combination of those means. |

| 21 | 19 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
