LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION May 1, 2015 TO: Honorable Susan Lewis King, Chair, House Committee on Defense & Veterans' Affairs FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE:SB807 by Campbell (Relating to occupational license application and examination fees for certain military service members, military veterans, and military spouses.), As Engrossed According to the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, this bill would reduce state revenue from occupational license application and exam fees. However, insufficient data exist to determine how much revenue would be forgone. Therefore, the fiscal impact of the bill cannot be estimated. Specifically, the license application and examination fees would be waived for a military service member or veteran whose military service, training, or education meets the requirements for the license. The license application and examination fees also would be waived for a service member, veteran, or military spouse who holds a current license issued by another jurisdiction that has licensing requirements that are equivalent to those in Texas.
