| 7 | 7 | | relating to the authority of the Texas Facilities Commission to |

| 8 | 8 | | manage a construction project at the site of the G. J. Sutton State |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Office Complex in Bexar County. |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 11 | 11 | | SECTION 1. (a) The Texas Facilities Commission is |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | authorized to manage a construction project for a state office |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | building and associated parking facilities for state use at a cost |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | not to exceed $162,446,464 to be located on state-owned property in |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Bexar County at the site of the existing G. J. Sutton State Office |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Complex. |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | (b) The project for the state office building and associated |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | parking facilities is approved for financing in accordance with |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Section 1232.108, Government Code, and bonds may be issued to fund |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | the construction of the building and facilities in accordance with |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Section 1232.102, Government Code. |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | (c) The state office building shall be known as the G. J. |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Sutton Building and the property on the land on which the building |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | is located shall be known as the G. J. Sutton State Office Complex. |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | (d) The project for the state office building and associated |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | parking facilities shall be constructed in compliance with Chapter |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | 2166, Government Code. |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | SECTION 2. In managing and implementing the project |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | authorized under Section 1 of this Act, the Texas Facilities |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Commission in collaboration with the Texas Historical Commission |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | shall determine any opportunities for and the feasibility of |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | preserving the existing status of the G. J. Sutton Building as a |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | contributing building for the designation of the area as a historic |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | district of the National Register of Historic Places. |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | SECTION 3. The construction of a state office building and |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | associated parking facilities for state use described by this Act |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | is subject to the specific appropriation of funds to the Texas |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | Facilities Commission for that purpose by a general appropriations |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | act of the 84th Legislature. |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | SECTION 4. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 41 | 41 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 42 | 42 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 43 | 43 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 44 | 44 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
