55 A JOINT RESOLUTION
66 proposing a constitutional amendment authorizing the legislature
77 to exempt from ad valorem taxation by one or more political
88 subdivisions of this state a person's inventory.
99 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Article VIII, Texas Constitution, is amended by
1111 adding Section 1-r to read as follows:
1212 Sec. 1-r. The legislature by general law may exempt from ad
1313 valorem taxation by one or more political subdivisions of this
1414 state a person's inventory, as defined by general law.
1515 SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be
1616 submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 3, 2015.
1717 The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the
1818 proposition: "The constitutional amendment authorizing the
1919 legislature to exempt from ad valorem taxation by one or more
2020 political subdivisions of this state a person's inventory."
