| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize the Reverend David Boyd, who is retiring as rector of |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | Saint David's Episcopal Church in Austin after 30 years of |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | outstanding service in the ministry; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Reverend Boyd was called to serve as the 13th |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | rector of Saint David's Episcopal Church in August of 2003; prior |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | to his move to Austin, he served in leadership positions at four |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | ministries in Wisconsin, including two inner-city missions in |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Milwaukee, and he served as rector of the Church of Saint Michael |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | the Archangel in Lexington, Kentucky; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Over the last 11 years, Reverend Boyd has |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | ministered faithfully to the needs of the Saint David's Episcopal |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Church congregation; under his outstanding leadership, the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | church has provided enlightenment, hope, and support to the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Austin community; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, In addition to guiding the ministries of the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | church, he has served on numerous diocesan committees at the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | national level, and he was elected to the General Convention of |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | the Episcopal Church four times; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, A man of deep spiritual devotion, Reverend Boyd |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | has had a positive influence on the lives of many Christians, and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | his presence at Saint David's Episcopal Church will be greatly |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | missed; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Legislature, hereby commend the Reverend David Boyd for his |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | exemplary life of leadership and his many contributions to Saint |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | David's Episcopal Church and extend to him sincere best wishes |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | for the future; and, be it further |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
