| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Since its founding in 1865, the San Antonio |

| 6 | 6 | | Express-News has maintained a reputation as the leading |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | chronicler of events in the community; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, San Antonio is a city rich in diversity, culture, |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | and history, and the 150th anniversary of the Express-News is an |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | opportunity to reflect on and celebrate the city's unique |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | heritage; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, In honor of this special anniversary, the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | newspaper printed a special historical section on January 25, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | 2015, and each day since then, for the next eight months, it is |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | publishing a full-page feature drawn from its extensive |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | archives; the culmination of these anniversary features will be a |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | celebratory section to be published on September 27, 2015; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, For 150 years, the San Antonio Express-News has |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | consistently been a high-quality publication, and all the |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | members of its staff deserve to be commended for the newspaper's |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | success and its loyal following; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Legislature, hereby congratulate the San Antonio Express-News on |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | the occasion of its 150th anniversary and extend to all |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | associated with the newspaper best wishes for continued success; |
