55 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens
66 of San Antonio in mourning the loss of Captain Edward Francis
77 Bysinski, who died January 31, 2015, at the age of 92; and
88 WHEREAS, Edward Bysinski was born on August 6, 1922, in
99 Hammond, Indiana; he enriched the lives of all who knew him
1010 through his strength, his engaging personality, and his
1111 enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest; and
1212 WHEREAS, He joined the United States Air Force at the age
1313 of 22 and served with distinction as a fighter pilot in World War
1414 II; he earned the rank of captain during his 23 years of service
1515 and was the recipient of numerous awards and medals; he retired
1616 from the military in 1968; and
1717 WHEREAS, In 2011, he was honored with the Distinguished
1818 Service to Country Award by the Bexar County Democratic Party,
1919 and the following year he was named honorary Grand Marshall of
2020 San Antonio's annual Veterans Day Parade by the United States
2121 Military Veterans Parade Association; and
2222 WHEREAS, Captain Bysinski was preceded in death by his
2323 lifetime partner, Dora Rabago; he cherished time spent with his
2424 family, and he was a man of faith who was active in many civic and
2525 political organizations; he will long be remembered with
2626 affection and admiration by all who were privileged to share in
2727 his life; now, therefore, be it
2828 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
2929 Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
3030 family of Captain Edward Francis Bysinski; and, be it further
3131 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
3232 his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
3333 Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
3434 memory of Captain Edward Francis Bysinski.
