| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | of San Antonio in mourning the loss of Captain Edward Francis |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Bysinski, who died January 31, 2015, at the age of 92; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Edward Bysinski was born on August 6, 1922, in |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Hammond, Indiana; he enriched the lives of all who knew him |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | through his strength, his engaging personality, and his |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, He joined the United States Air Force at the age |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | of 22 and served with distinction as a fighter pilot in World War |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | II; he earned the rank of captain during his 23 years of service |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | and was the recipient of numerous awards and medals; he retired |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | from the military in 1968; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, In 2011, he was honored with the Distinguished |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Service to Country Award by the Bexar County Democratic Party, |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | and the following year he was named honorary Grand Marshall of |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | San Antonio's annual Veterans Day Parade by the United States |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Military Veterans Parade Association; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Captain Bysinski was preceded in death by his |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | lifetime partner, Dora Rabago; he cherished time spent with his |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | family, and he was a man of faith who was active in many civic and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | political organizations; he will long be remembered with |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | affection and admiration by all who were privileged to share in |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | his life; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | family of Captain Edward Francis Bysinski; and, be it further |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in |
