11 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 164
22 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
33 recognize Del Mar College in Corpus Christi for its many
44 contributions to the community of the Coastal Bend region; and
55 WHEREAS, Del Mar College provides high-quality instruction
66 in a wide range of academic and technical disciplines for its
77 10,000 traditional students and its 12,000 continuing education
88 and contract instruction students; and
99 WHEREAS, The college's business, occupational, and technical
1010 students earn a statistically high income in their first year after
1111 graduation, and on average, 90 percent of Del Mar College graduates
1212 seeking licensure for their professional credentials pass their
1313 state or national certification examinations; and
1414 WHEREAS, This outstanding institution offers a first-rate
1515 education to the people of the Coastal Bend at an affordable
1616 price; the college is truly deserving of recognition for the
1717 positive impact it has had on the growth and prosperity of the
1818 region; now, therefore, be it
1919 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
2020 Legislature, hereby commend the administration, faculty, staff,
2121 and board of regents of Del Mar College on their commitment to
2222 excellence in education and extend to them best wishes for
2323 continued success; and, be it further
2424 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
2525 the college as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
