| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Del Mar College in Corpus Christi for its many |

| 4 | 4 | | contributions to the community of the Coastal Bend region; and |

| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Del Mar College provides high-quality instruction |

| 6 | 6 | | in a wide range of academic and technical disciplines for its |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | 10,000 traditional students and its 12,000 continuing education |

| 8 | 8 | | and contract instruction students; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The college's business, occupational, and technical |

| 10 | 10 | | students earn a statistically high income in their first year after |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | graduation, and on average, 90 percent of Del Mar College graduates |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | seeking licensure for their professional credentials pass their |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | state or national certification examinations; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, This outstanding institution offers a first-rate |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | education to the people of the Coastal Bend at an affordable |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | price; the college is truly deserving of recognition for the |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | positive impact it has had on the growth and prosperity of the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | region; now, therefore, be it |

| 19 | 19 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Legislature, hereby commend the administration, faculty, staff, |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | and board of regents of Del Mar College on their commitment to |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | excellence in education and extend to them best wishes for |
