| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, Many esteemed Texans are gathering in Austin on |

| 3 | 3 | | February 17, 2015, in celebration of Texas Food and Fuel |

| 4 | 4 | | Association Day at the State Capitol; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Founded in 1949, the association represents more |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | than 700 companies engaged in petroleum marketing, grocery |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | distribution, and convenience and grocery store sales; it is |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | headquartered in Austin, and its members own, operate, or supply |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | more than 12,000 convenience stores across the state; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Association members distribute an estimated |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | two-thirds of all of the motor fuel sold in Texas and deliver |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | products to convenience stores, grocery stores, and truck stops |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | across the state; the group's retail members own or operate |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | approximately 5,000 facilities, whether single stores or outlets |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | of major national chains; in addition, suppliers belonging to the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | organization include some of the world's largest enterprises in |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | petroleum, food, beverages, tobacco, and equipment; and |

| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Under the leadership of its current chair, Gary |

| 19 | 19 | | Johnson, the Texas Food and Fuel Association works diligently to |

| 20 | 20 | | promote the success of businesses that contribute significantly |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | to the prosperity of the Lone Star State, and this event provides |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | a fitting opportunity to honor this noteworthy organization; |

| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
