| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Marcus Edward Hill, who is being honored with a |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | Texas Agricultural Lifetime Achievement Award; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Marcus Hill began his distinguished leadership |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | career when he was elected president of the Texas Future Farmers |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | of America after graduating from high school; he began working |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | for the National Farm Life Insurance Company while studying |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | agricultural education at Texas A&M University, and upon earning |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | his degree, he joined one of the company's subsidiaries, the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Agricultural Workers Mutual Auto Insurance Company; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, He ascended to the vice presidency of the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Agricultural Workers Mutual Auto Insurance Company in 1982 and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | became president six years later; as president, he was |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | instrumental in organizing two subsidiaries that expanded the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | company's opportunities, and in 2006, he was appointed the |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | company's chairman of the board; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, An exemplary leader in his field, Mr. Hill is |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | dedicated to the state's continued agricultural success; he |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | serves on numerous boards and educational advisory councils and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | can often be found at local stock shows and fairs supporting the |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | next generation of agricultural leaders; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Marcus Hill is a widely respected and admired man |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | who has received numerous awards for his outstanding service; he |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | is indeed deserving of recognition as a lifelong steward of our |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | state's thriving agricultural economy; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Legislature, hereby commend Marcus Edward Hill for his extensive |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | contributions to our state and congratulate him on receiving a |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Texas Agricultural Lifetime Achievement Award; and, be it further |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
