SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 22
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize the La Vernia Greenhand FFA Quiz team, which recently
won first place at the FFA State Leadership Development Events
competition in Huntsville; and
WHEREAS, The State Leadership Development Events
competition is a statewide FFA tournament of 13 events in which
participants demonstrate their abilities in public speaking,
decision-making, communication, and knowledge of agriculture and
the FFA organization; and
WHEREAS, The La Vernia Greenhand FFA Quiz team placed first
in district and area quiz competitions before winning first place
overall as a team at the state competition; three individual team
members ranked in the top ten at the event; and
WHEREAS, Team members Grey Geisel, Annie Dirks, Corley
Carpenter, and Cheyenne Zigmond have demonstrated great talent
and perseverance throughout the school year, and they can take
pride in their outstanding performance; and
WHEREAS, Under the superior guidance of agriculture
instructor Jennifer Kotzur, the La Vernia Greenhand FFA Quiz team
has developed exceptional discipline and subject knowledge; the
school and the community are proud of team members for their hard
work and their impressive skills; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
Legislature, hereby commend the members of the La Vernia
Greenhand FFA Quiz team and congratulate them on their success at
the FFA State Leadership Development Events competition; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
the team as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
