| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Texas Medal of Arts program pays tribute to |

| 6 | 6 | | individual Texas artists who have made important contributions |

| 7 | 7 | | in their respective disciplines, and it also honors |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | educational institutions, businesses, patrons, and organizers |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | that have furthered artistic expression through their generous |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | support; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Dr Pepper Snapple Group has long emphasized |

| 12 | 12 | | corporate philanthropy, supporting charities in the arts and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | education as well as a multitude of other worthwhile |

| 14 | 14 | | endeavors; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, By promoting and encouraging an appreciation for |

| 16 | 16 | | the arts, Dr Pepper Snapple Group has enhanced the quality of |

| 17 | 17 | | life in many Texas communities and has greatly added to the rich |

| 18 | 18 | | cultural tapestry of the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it |

| 19 | 19 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |

| 20 | 20 | | Legislature, hereby congratulate Dr Pepper Snapple Group on its |

| 21 | 21 | | selection as the 2015 Texas Medal of Arts honoree in the |
