                            SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 226
 WHEREAS, Members of the Military Officers Association of
 America and the Texas Coalition of Veterans Organizations are
 gathering at the State Capitol on February 26, 2015; and
 WHEREAS, Founded in 1929 in Los Angeles, the Military
 Officers Association of America is currently based in
 Alexandria, Virginia; it is open to all active-duty, retired, and
 former commissioned officers and warrant officers of the United
 States armed forces, as well as of the Coast Guard, the Public
 Health Service, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric
 Administration; and
 WHEREAS, Boasting more than 380,000 members, the Military
 Officers Association of America provides a range of important
 services, including assistance with estate and financial
 planning and career transition, military benefits counseling,
 and educational assistance to the children of military families;
 the group also plays an active role with regard to legislation
 that affects career military officers, as well as retirees and
 veterans; and
 WHEREAS, The Texas Coalition of Veterans Organizations is
 made up of 37 veterans service groups from across the Lone Star
 State; it acts as a clearinghouse on legislation concerning
 veterans and provides its member groups with up-to-date access to
 that information via its website; and
 WHEREAS, The citizens of our state and nation owe a
 profound debt of gratitude to the men and women represented by
 these two notable organizations, and it is indeed a privilege to
 honor them at this time; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
 Legislature, hereby recognize the members of the Military
 Officers Association of America and the Texas Coalition of
 Veterans Organizations on the occasion of their visit to the
 State Capitol and extend to them sincere best wishes for an
 enjoyable and informative day in Austin.
