SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 23 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to join Texans across the state in celebrating Children's Advocacy Centers of Texas Legislative Day at the Capitol, on January 27, 2015; and WHEREAS, Children's Advocacy Centers of Texas, Incorporated, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the goal of restoring the lives of abused and neglected children; founded with a charter membership of 13 local centers, it now has a membership of 68 centers which are located across the state; and WHEREAS, The organization offers a wide variety of services to local centers, including training programs, site visits, a case tracking system, and technical assistance; and WHEREAS, The 68 centers serve some 40,000 children each year; the multidisciplinary teams work closely with law enforcement officials and Department of Family and Protective Services representatives to coordinate joint investigations into abuse and to help victims receive the services they need to heal; and WHEREAS, Child abuse is an issue that touches all Texans, and it is truly fitting that the Children's Advocacy Centers of Texas receive recognition for the organization's outstanding work in protecting the state's most vulnerable population; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th Legislature, hereby commend the Children's Advocacy Centers of Texas, Incorporated, on its efforts to ensure that abused and neglected children receive justice and extend to all associated with the organization best wishes for a rewarding Legislative Day at the Capitol; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the Children's Advocacy Centers of Texas as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
