SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 231 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Jeannette Marie Rivera, who is retiring on February 28, 2015, from the Office of the Attorney General after more than 30 years in public service; and WHEREAS, Jenny Rivera began her career in public service as an employee in the Cameron County Tax Assessor-Collector's Office, where she served for 10 years; she joined the Office of the Attorney General in 1993; and WHEREAS, Over the course of her career in state service, she has been noted for her superior skills and dedication; she began her career in the attorney general's office as an employee in the mail room and worked her way through the ranks to earn the position of Program Specialist V; and WHEREAS, Talented and resourceful, she has handled her many responsibilities with remarkable efficiency; she has also been an active volunteer in several civic and philanthropic organizations, including the Seedling Foundation, the Brownsville Jaycees, and Big Brothers Big Sisters; and WHEREAS, An exemplary public servant, she is respected and admired by her colleagues, and her presence in the Office of the Attorney General will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th Legislature, hereby commend Jeannette Marie Rivera on her exceptional service to the people of Texas as an employee of the Office of the Attorney General and extend to her best wishes for continued success in all her endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
