SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 233 In Memory of Carlos Adrian Flores WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens of Austin in mourning the loss of Carlos Adrian Flores, who died January 23, 2015, at the age of 70; and WHEREAS, Carlos Flores was born on January 6, 1945, in Austin; the oldest of eight children, he served as a confidant, friend, and mentor to his younger siblings; and WHEREAS, Over the years, his dedication to family never waned; a loving father and grandfather, he was a constant presence at family gatherings, and he never missed an opportunity to share a meal with a loved one; and WHEREAS, For 30 years, Mr. Flores served as a counselor and sponsor for those struggling with alcohol and drug addiction; through his work, he had a positive effect on the lives of others and saved the lives of many; he was a constant source of support to countless individuals who looked to him for guidance during difficult times; and WHEREAS, He was a man of compassion and strength who gave unselfishly to others, and his wisdom, warmth, and valued counsel will long be remembered by all who were privileged to share in his life; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved family of Carlos Adrian Flores; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Carlos Flores.
