11 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 249
22 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
33 recognize the Edinburg High School Bobcat Cheerleaders, who
44 recently won their third consecutive national championship
55 title; and
66 WHEREAS, The Bobcat cheerleaders were among 13,000
77 participants at the 2015 National Cheerleading Association
88 competition held in Dallas; the talented athletes were judged on
99 technical skills, choreographed cheer, and dance; and
1010 WHEREAS, In addition to earning the highest score in the
1111 Small Intermediate Coed High School division, the team came home
1212 with the Specialty Award for Best Stunts; and
1313 WHEREAS, These young performers have demonstrated great
1414 talent and perseverance throughout the school year, and team
1515 members can indeed take pride in their outstanding performance; and
1616 WHEREAS, Under the superior leadership of Coach Eva
1717 Guerra-Perez, the Bobcat cheerleaders have developed exceptional
1818 teamwork and discipline; and
1919 WHEREAS, Edinburg High School and the City of Edinburg are
2020 proud of the Bobcats for their determination and their fine
2121 sportsmanship; now, therefore, be it
2222 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
2323 Legislature, hereby commend the Edinburg High School Bobcat
2424 Cheerleaders on their outstanding achievements and congratulate
2525 them on winning the 2015 National Cheerleading Association
2626 championship; and, be it further
2727 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
2828 the team as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
