                            SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 258
 In Memory
 of
 Enrique Escobedo Jr.
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
 citizens of Brownsville in mourning the loss of Dr. Enrique
 Escobedo Jr., who died December 19, 2013, at the age of 44; and
 WHEREAS, Dr. Enrique Escobedo was an exemplary citizen who
 was beloved in the community for his leadership, his generous
 spirit, and his many accomplishments; and
 WHEREAS, Committed to improving the educational system of
 Brownsville, he began serving as a trustee on the board of the
 Brownsville Independent School District in 2003; and
 WHEREAS, A truly dedicated public servant, Dr. Escobedo
 was a mentor and a positive role model for innumerable children
 who looked to him for guidance; he believed that nothing was
 impossible and that it was never too late to learn; and
 WHEREAS, Dr. Escobedo lived life according to his faith
 and was a member of the Brownsville Community Fellowship Church;
 he gave unselfishly to others, and his wisdom, warmth, and valued
 counsel will long be remembered by all who were privileged to
 share in his life; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
 Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
 family of Dr. Enrique Escobedo Jr.; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
 Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
 memory of Dr. Enrique Escobedo Jr.
