| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize the Cotulla High School Mariachi Cotuleno band, which |

| 4 | 4 | | won the 3A Division I state mariachi championship title on |

| 5 | 5 | | February 7, 2015; and |

| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The mariachi group brings together the exemplary |

| 7 | 7 | | talents of 19 young musicians who are dedicated to the historic |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | tradition of mariachi; their first-place finish marks a second |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | consecutive win for the team; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, These dedicated students have demonstrated great |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | skill and perseverance throughout the school year, and they can |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | take great pride in their outstanding performance; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Under the exceptional leadership and expertise of |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | band director Francisco Ramirez, members of Mariachi Cotuleno |

| 15 | 15 | | have developed exceptional teamwork and discipline; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, The Cotulla High School mariachi band is a source |

| 17 | 17 | | of pride for the fellow students, the faculty, and the Cotulla |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | community, and its members are truly deserving of recognition for |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | their outstanding achievement; now, therefore, be it |

| 20 | 20 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |

| 21 | 21 | | Legislature, hereby congratulate the members of Mariachi |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Cotuleno and extend to them best wishes for continued success; |
