                    SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 294
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
 join the Harris County Historical Commission and the people of
 Houston in celebrating the dedication of the W. P. Mulcahy House
 at 1046 Harvard Street as a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark; and
 WHEREAS, W. P. Mulcahy and his wife, Mattie, purchased this
 Houston Heights home in 1909, and the house remained in the
 Mulcahy family for 90 years; Mr. Mulcahy enjoyed a long and
 productive career in the banking industry and served as president
 of Damon State Bank; and
 WHEREAS, This historic structure is a fine example of the
 Dutch Colonial Revival style and features a unique T-shaped cross
 gambrel roof, a native cypress-clad frame, and an inset front
 porch featuring the bay's central 40-light window; and
 WHEREAS, The people of Houston are justifiably proud of
 their rich heritage, and it is truly fitting that this historic
 home receive special recognition; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
 Legislature, hereby extend best wishes for a memorable ceremony
 designating the W. P. Mulcahy House as a Recorded Texas Historic
 Landmark; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
 honor of this special occasion.
