| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | join the Harris County Historical Commission and the people of |

| 4 | 4 | | Houston in celebrating the dedication of the W. P. Mulcahy House |

| 5 | 5 | | at 1046 Harvard Street as a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark; and |

| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, W. P. Mulcahy and his wife, Mattie, purchased this |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Houston Heights home in 1909, and the house remained in the |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Mulcahy family for 90 years; Mr. Mulcahy enjoyed a long and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | productive career in the banking industry and served as president |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | of Damon State Bank; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, This historic structure is a fine example of the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Dutch Colonial Revival style and features a unique T-shaped cross |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | gambrel roof, a native cypress-clad frame, and an inset front |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | porch featuring the bay's central 40-light window; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, The people of Houston are justifiably proud of |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | their rich heritage, and it is truly fitting that this historic |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | home receive special recognition; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Legislature, hereby extend best wishes for a memorable ceremony |

| 20 | 20 | | designating the W. P. Mulcahy House as a Recorded Texas Historic |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Landmark; and, be it further |

| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in |
