| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize John Hrncir, who is retiring after three decades of |

| 4 | 4 | | exceptional service with the City of Austin; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, John Hrncir entered into service with the city in |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | 1985, after having worked with the Lower Colorado River Authority; |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | he became the city's government relations officer in 1992; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, During his tenure as government relations |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | officer, he has played a vital role in working with members of the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Texas Legislature to ensure that Austin's interests receive a |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | fair hearing; since 1992, more than 90 percent of the outcomes on |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | key bills in the legislature relating to Austin have been |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | positive for the city; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, As leader of the city's lobby team, he helped the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | city to secure more than $35 million in federal funding, including |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | $11 million from the United States Army Corps of Engineers to |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | purchase flood-damaged property along Onion Creek; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, An exemplary public servant, he is respected and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | admired by his colleagues, and his presence with the City of |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Austin will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Legislature, hereby commend John Hrncir on his exceptional |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | service to the people of Austin as the city's government |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | relations officer and extend to him best wishes for continued |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | success in all his endeavors; and, be it further |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
