SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 335
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize April E. Lopez, an advanced practice registered nurse
and founder of the Lopez Family Clinic, in McAllen; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Lopez is a lifelong resident of the Rio
Grande Valley and a dedicated nurse practitioner who has worked
in emergency room settings and in many hospitals throughout the
region; she recently gained attention for guiding emergency
medical efforts when a passenger on board her flight went into
severe medical distress; and
WHEREAS, In addition to serving as a nurse practitioner,
Mrs. Lopez provides jobs and support to the community through
successful entrepreneurial and charitable endeavors; the Lopez
Family Clinic has been a source of high quality health care for
hundreds of indigent patients, and her home-health business and
wellness spa have greatly benefited the community; and
WHEREAS, April Lopez is a respected and admired leader in
her field; she inspires the next generation of nursing
professionals as an instructor at her alma mater, The University
of Texas--Pan American, and she is indeed a treasured citizen of
our state; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
Legislature, hereby commend April E. Lopez for her many
contributions to the health of the citizens of the Rio Grande
Valley and extend to her best wishes in all her future endeavors;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
