| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize April E. Lopez, an advanced practice registered nurse |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | and founder of the Lopez Family Clinic, in McAllen; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Lopez is a lifelong resident of the Rio |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | Grande Valley and a dedicated nurse practitioner who has worked |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | in emergency room settings and in many hospitals throughout the |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | region; she recently gained attention for guiding emergency |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | medical efforts when a passenger on board her flight went into |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | severe medical distress; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, In addition to serving as a nurse practitioner, |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Mrs. Lopez provides jobs and support to the community through |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | successful entrepreneurial and charitable endeavors; the Lopez |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Family Clinic has been a source of high quality health care for |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | hundreds of indigent patients, and her home-health business and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | wellness spa have greatly benefited the community; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, April Lopez is a respected and admired leader in |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | her field; she inspires the next generation of nursing |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | professionals as an instructor at her alma mater, The University |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | of Texas--Pan American, and she is indeed a treasured citizen of |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | our state; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Legislature, hereby commend April E. Lopez for her many |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | contributions to the health of the citizens of the Rio Grande |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Valley and extend to her best wishes in all her future endeavors; |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | and, be it further |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
