5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the |
---|
6 | 6 | | citizens of Lorena in mourning the loss of Sandra Lee Anderson, |
---|
7 | 7 | | who died March 7, 2015, at the age of 67; and |
---|
8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Sandy Anderson was born on August 22, 1947, to |
---|
9 | 9 | | Charles and Glendine Sears in Richwood, West Virginia; she |
---|
10 | 10 | | graduated from Brentwood High School in Brentwood, New York; and |
---|
11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, She married Charles "Doc" Anderson on August 21, |
---|
12 | 12 | | 1981, and they enjoyed more than 33 years of marriage together; |
---|
13 | 13 | | she was blessed with a son, Thomas Schmidt and with three |
---|
14 | 14 | | grandsons, Jonathan Reyes and Bradlee and Jaeson Estes; and |
---|
15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Anderson took part in a wide range of |
---|
16 | 16 | | activities in her adopted hometown of Lorena; she was an advocate |
---|
17 | 17 | | for the Heart of Texas Fair and Rodeo and was involved with the |
---|
18 | 18 | | McLennan County Republican Ladies Club and the McLennan County |
---|
19 | 19 | | Republican Club; and |
---|
20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, She was an active participant in her husband's |
---|
21 | 21 | | work, both as a helper at Anderson Veterinary Hospital and Top |
---|
22 | 22 | | Notch Ranch and as a dedicated supporter of his political |
---|
23 | 23 | | campaigns; and |
---|
24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, She was an accomplished bowler and competed at |
---|
25 | 25 | | local, state, and national levels with her team, the Byrd House, |
---|
26 | 26 | | for more than 25 years; she was an avid football fan of the Texas |
---|
27 | 27 | | Aggies and the Dallas Cowboys; and |
---|
28 | 28 | | WHEREAS, Sandy Anderson was a woman of warmth and |
---|
29 | 29 | | compassion who gave unselfishly to others, and her courage during |
---|
30 | 30 | | her long battle with multiple myeloma, and her enthusiasm for |
---|
31 | 31 | | living each day to the fullest will not be forgotten by those who |
---|
32 | 32 | | were privileged to share in her life; and |
---|
33 | 33 | | WHEREAS, She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, and |
---|
34 | 34 | | grandmother, and she leaves behind memories that will be |
---|
35 | 35 | | treasured forever by her family and countless friends; now, |
---|
36 | 36 | | therefore, be it |
---|
37 | 37 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
---|
38 | 38 | | Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |
---|
39 | 39 | | family of Sandra Lee Anderson; and, be it further |
---|
40 | 40 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
---|
41 | 41 | | her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |
---|
42 | 42 | | Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in |

43 | 43 | | memory of Sandra Lee Anderson. |
