| 3 | 3 | | recognize the annual Good Bull BBQ Cook-Off; and |

| 4 | 4 | | WHEREAS, This exceptional event takes place on the last |

| 5 | 5 | | Friday and Saturday in February each year and is hosted by the |

| 6 | 6 | | nonprofit group Friends of Brazos Valley Heroes; and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, Sanctioned by the International Barbeque Cookers |

| 8 | 8 | | Association as one of the organization's annual state cook-offs, |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | the Good Bull BBQ Cook-Off showcases accomplished pit masters |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | from across the state putting their skills to the test as they |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | compete for prizes in several different categories; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Proceeds from the cook-off benefit the Brazos |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Valley Veterans organization, along with fire, police, and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | emergency medical services departments in Brazos, Burleson, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Grimes, Leon, Madison, Robertson, and Washington Counties; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Featuring good food and spirited culinary |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | competition, the Good Bull BBQ Cook-Off is all the more special |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | for the valuable support it provides local veterans and first |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | responders; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Legislature, hereby commend the sponsors and organizers of the |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Good Bull BBQ Cook-Off and extend to them best wishes for |

| 23 | 23 | | continued success; and, be it further |
