| 4 | 4 | | Theta Sorority, Incorporated, in recognizing Kathleen Turner, |

| 5 | 5 | | who has achieved the membership milestone of 25 years and was |

| 6 | 6 | | honored at a special Founders Day Luncheon on January 24, 2015; and |

| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority was founded in 1913 on |

| 8 | 8 | | the campus of Howard University; the organization strives to |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | promote academic excellence, provide scholarships, improve |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | communities, support the underserved, and encourage civic and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | political awareness and participation; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Each year the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex |

| 13 | 13 | | Chapters of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority come together for a |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Founders Day Luncheon and pay tribute to longtime sorority |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | members for their ongoing service and support; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Kathleen Turner was honored at the luncheon as a |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | 25-year member; she has distinguished herself through her |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | dedication and loyalty and has served as a mentor and role model |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | to countless sisters, and she is truly deserving of recognition; |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |

| 22 | 22 | | Legislature, hereby commend Kathleen Turner and extend to her |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | congratulations on being honored by the Dallas-Fort Worth |

| 24 | 24 | | Metroplex Chapters as a 25-year member of Delta Sigma Theta |
