4	4	Martha Jean Fleming Pinnelli
5	5	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
6	6	commemorates the life of Martha Jean Fleming Pinnelli, who died
7	7	December 28, 2014, at the age of 92; and
8	8	WHEREAS, Jean Fleming was born on December 13, 1922, in
9	9	Florence, Arizona; she moved with her family to Austin in 1928,
10	10	and she graduated from Austin High School before attending Texas
11	11	Woman's University; and
12	12	WHEREAS, She served the nation with distinction during
13	13	World War II as a member of the United States Navy; while
14	14	stationed at the Shoemaker Naval Hospital near San Francisco, she
15	15	met her future husband, Albert Pinnelli, and they married
16	16	immediately after the war; and
17	17	WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Pinnelli moved to Elgin, Texas, where
18	18	Mr. Pinnelli joined the staff at Fleming Hospital, and in 1951,
19	19	they moved to Stephenville; Mrs. Pinnelli devoted herself to
20	20	raising their sons, Al and Joe, and she instilled in them the
21	21	values of honor, ethics, and commitment to others; she was a
22	22	tireless supporter of the arts; and
23	23	WHEREAS, A woman of courage, strength, and integrity, she
24	24	gave selflessly to others, and she was noted for her modesty, her
25	25	elegant simplicity, and her enthusiasm for living each day to the
26	26	fullest; and
27	27	WHEREAS, She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother,
28	28	and she leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by
29	29	her family and many friends; now, therefore, be it
30	30	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
31	31	Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
32	32	family of Martha Jean Fleming Pinnelli; and, be it further
33	33	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
34	34	her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
35	35	Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
36	36	memory of Martha Jean Fleming Pinnelli.
