SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 404
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Shen Yun Performing Arts on the occasion of the
troupe's performances in Corpus Christi on March 21 and 22, 2015,
as part of its 2015 world tour; and
WHEREAS, A nonprofit organization based in New York City,
Shen Yun Performing Arts is a troupe of 100 classically trained
dancers, musicians, and vocalists who celebrate the ancient and
modern traditions of China through dazzling choreography and
sensational orchestration; each year, Shen Yun performs in more
than 100 cities around the world and interprets stories from five
millennia of Chinese civilization; and
WHEREAS, Since its inaugural season in 2006, Shen Yun
Performing Arts has been hailed by audiences across the globe for
its inspirational and enthusiastic performances; the company
features a new lineup of dances, songs, and scores each year in
its continuing dedication to showcasing China's illustrious
heritage; and
WHEREAS, Shen Yun Performing Arts has delighted countless
individuals of all ages with its culturally rich entertainment,
and the City of Corpus Christi is privileged to host the
company's newest creative endeavor; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
Legislature, hereby commend all those associated with Shen Yun
Performing Arts and extend best wishes for continued success;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
the group as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
