| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize the McAllen High School Mariachi Oro band, which |

| 4 | 4 | | recently won the Class 6A mariachi state championship title; and |

| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The members of Mariachi Oro brought home their |

| 6 | 6 | | second championship title at their second state finals |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | appearance, taking first place among the 12 ensembles in their |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | category at the Southwest Performing Arts Center in San Antonio; |

| 9 | 9 | | and |

| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, These young musicians have demonstrated great |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | talent and perseverance throughout the school year, and band |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | members can take great pride in their outstanding performance; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Under the superior leadership and expertise of |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | their director and instructor, Alex Treviño, the members of |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Mariachi Oro have developed exceptional musicianship, teamwork, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | and discipline; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, McAllen High School and the City of McAllen are |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | proud of Mariachi Oro members for their hard work, their |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | impressive skills, and their enthusiasm and spirit; now, |

| 20 | 20 | | therefore, be it |

| 21 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |

| 22 | 22 | | Legislature, hereby commend the members of the McAllen High |

| 23 | 23 | | School Mariachi Oro band for their hard work and dedication and |

| 24 | 24 | | congratulate them on winning the Class 6A mariachi state |
