11 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 411
22 WHEREAS, The Central Texas Water Coalition is a
33 nonpartisan, nonprofit organization formed in 2011 to bring
44 together concerned individuals and groups to constructively
55 address water issues of the lower Colorado River basin; and
66 WHEREAS, The coalition now consists of over 3,000 Texas
77 residents, businesses, local government representatives,
88 property owner associations, environmental interests, and
99 concerned citizens who are united by a commitment to responsible
1010 water management and conservation policies; and
1111 WHEREAS, The Central Texas Highland Lakes are
1212 irreplaceable natural resources that supply drinking water for
1313 the residents of Central Texas and provide an important economic
1414 engine for the State of Texas; and
1515 WHEREAS, Central Texas Water Coalition volunteers have
1616 spent countless hours in meetings, in research, in outreach, and
1717 in advocacy to support the coalition's mission of protecting
1818 water supplies and water levels for the benefit of human health
1919 and safety and economic development; now, therefore, be it
2020 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
2121 Legislature, hereby honor the Central Texas Water Coalition for
2222 its diligent work to protect the Highland Lakes and advance the
2323 goals of better water management and conservation in the lower
2424 Colorado River basin and throughout the State of Texas,
2525 especially during these times of extreme drought.
