| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Central Texas Water Coalition is a |

| 3 | 3 | | nonpartisan, nonprofit organization formed in 2011 to bring |

| 4 | 4 | | together concerned individuals and groups to constructively |

| 5 | 5 | | address water issues of the lower Colorado River basin; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The coalition now consists of over 3,000 Texas |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | residents, businesses, local government representatives, |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | property owner associations, environmental interests, and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | concerned citizens who are united by a commitment to responsible |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | water management and conservation policies; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, The Central Texas Highland Lakes are |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | irreplaceable natural resources that supply drinking water for |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | the residents of Central Texas and provide an important economic |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | engine for the State of Texas; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Central Texas Water Coalition volunteers have |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | spent countless hours in meetings, in research, in outreach, and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | in advocacy to support the coalition's mission of protecting |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | water supplies and water levels for the benefit of human health |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | and safety and economic development; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Legislature, hereby honor the Central Texas Water Coalition for |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | its diligent work to protect the Highland Lakes and advance the |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | goals of better water management and conservation in the lower |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Colorado River basin and throughout the State of Texas, |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | especially during these times of extreme drought. |
