11 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 415
22 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
33 welcome the coalition of civic-minded Texans gathering in Austin
44 on March 23, 2015, to discuss transportation policy on Toll-Free
55 Texas Day at the State Capitol; and
66 WHEREAS, In a combined effort, the dedicated members of
77 three associations are advocating for the construction of new
88 roads that will not require drivers to pay tolls; and
99 WHEREAS, Members of Texans Uniting for Reform and Freedom,
1010 the Eagle Forum, and Grassroots America-We the People are coming
1111 together to engage in discussion and debate and to represent
1212 their views as part of the process by which public policy is
1313 developed; and
1414 WHEREAS, Each of these groups has successfully advocated
1515 for goals that its members support, and they have empowered
1616 countless citizens to speak out on issues of vital importance;
1717 they have worked closely with state and national policy groups,
1818 think tanks, and conservative groups across the country; and
1919 WHEREAS, The continued prosperity of the Lone Star State
2020 depends on an effective transportation system, and concerned
2121 citizens have a vital role to play in the discussions surrounding
2222 this matter; now, therefore, be it
2323 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
2424 Legislature, hereby recognize March 23, 2015, as Toll-Free Texas
2525 Day at the State Capitol and commend all those involved for their
2626 civic engagement.
