                    SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 416
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
 recognize Bishop T. K. Gorman Catholic School for its commitment
 to providing excellent academic and spiritual education; and
 WHEREAS, Bishop T. K. Gorman Catholic School has been
 serving the people of Tyler and the surrounding area for more
 than 55 years; this exemplary institution is operated under the
 loving leadership of Bishop Emeritus Edmond Carmody, Father
 Justin Braun, and Deacon Bill Necessary; and
 WHEREAS, The school provides a challenging academic
 environment and a rigorous college preparatory curriculum along
 with an emphasis on values, character, and self-discipline that
 enables each student to become a contributing member of society; and
 WHEREAS, A high percentage of the school's graduates go on
 to attend colleges and universities, and many of them receive
 generous scholarship offers; and
 WHEREAS, Bishop T. K. Gorman Catholic School has been named
 a Top 50 Catholic High School for 10 consecutive years, and it has
 received the prestigious Blue Ribbon Excellence in Education
 Award from the United States Department of Education; it is truly
 deserving of special recognition for the positive impact it has
 had on its students and its community; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
 Legislature, hereby commend the students, faculty, and staff of
 Bishop T. K. Gorman Catholic School on their dedication to
 excellence in education and extend to them best wishes for
 continued success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 the school as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
